2025 FW / Quanzhou Fashion Week (Autumn/Winter) Opening Ceremony and CABBEEN 25/26 Autumn/Winter Fashion Show Debut at Xiangzhi Wharf, Quanzhou

2025-09-17 2022

In Shishi, Quanzhou, the ocean has never been merely a natural backdrop; it is more a source that nurtures livelihoods, accumulates culture, and embodies spiritual sustenance. On September 16, as the drumbeats of the Fishing Opening Festival gradually faded away, Xiangzhi Wharf once again welcomed a grand and unique feast—the Opening Ceremony of the 2025 Quanzhou Fashion Week (Autumn/Winter) and the CABBEEN 25/26 Autumn/Winter Fashion Launch. Amidst the interweaving of sea breezes and tidal sounds, this ancient harbor—once a starting point of the Maritime Silk Road with a thousand years of history—radiates contemporary fashion brilliance.

In the evening of that day, Xiangzhi Fishing Port was transformed into a mobile fashion stage. A number of distinguished guests made their appearances one after another, instantly igniting the entire venue and turning this fishing port into a focal point where spotlights converged.

Immediately afterward, the "Lion Formation" performance, which is deeply rooted in Minnan culture, made a stunning appearance. The resounding drumbeats and agile lion dances complemented the fishing boats moored at the harbor, creating a unique cultural scene amid the collision of tradition and modernity. With these touching performances, the 2025 Quanzhou Fashion Week officially kicked off.

As the guests took their seats, the suitcase-shaped stage, inspired by the design concept of "Journey and Return," gradually lit up. The suitcase installation and the distant sea horizon overlapped to form a layered scene, symbolizing CABBEEN's life philosophy of "Walking the World, Returning to the Hometown of the Heart." Amidst the interweaving of tidal sounds and stage lights, the CABBEEN 25/26 Autumn/Winter Fashion Show officially unveiled.

The Sea and the Suitcase: A Fashion Metaphor for CABBEEN's Spirit

One of the most eye-catching symbols of this fashion show was the four towering CABBEEN "suitcases" on the T-stage, whose inspiration came from the personal experience of Mr. Cabbeen, the founder. As a designer who travels frequently across the seven continents and four oceans, he is accustomed to packing his inspirations and experiences into a suitcase, yet always keeps his heart rooted in his hometown, Shishi.

"The suitcase is both a symbol of wandering and a metaphor for the journey home," said Mr. Cabbeen. In his view, the soul of the brand lies not in Paris, Milan, or New York, but in how to translate the language of the world into the vocabulary unique to Minnan, and then spread it from Minnan to the globe. The stage this time is a concrete embodiment of his design philosophy—models seem to walk from the junction of the sea and sky, being both travelers far from home and those returning. Holding the fashion show by the sea for two consecutive years is not only a challenge, but also reflects Mr. Cabbeen's deep affection for his hometown. The stage construction had to race against the tides and weather, and the scenery had to withstand the test of the sea breeze; every detail demonstrates a sense of authenticity.

Xiao Xiangrong, the chief director of this fashion show, drew inspiration from the suitcase design and integrated CABBEEN's 28-year brand journey and hometown culture into the stage layout. The 150-meter-long T-stage symbolizes the brand's development path, while the suitcases are transformed into installations resembling doors—each door carries the brand's stories, growth memories, and cultural emotions. As a native of Jinjiang, a city adjacent to Shishi, Director Xiao also found a deep emotional resonance in the show: "Building a stage by the sea means unpredictability, but it is this unpredictability that makes it the most authentic."

"When the models' sleeves fluttered in the wind, and the natural light of the sea and sky intertwined with the stage design, the audience saw not only fashion shows, but also felt the interweaving of the brand with people, and history with culture—filling the entire show with depth and appeal. In Mr. Cabbeen's view, this fashion show is not just a fashion release, but a unique experience of dancing in harmony with nature."

Show Highlights: CABBEEN 25/26 Autumn/Winter New Collection

At the CABBEEN 25/26 Autumn/Winter Fashion Show, two major co-branded collections stood out as the focus of the entire event. Beyond these, the show also presented multi-dimensional fashion chapters:The collision between Western cowboy and street styles emphasized the casualness and freedom of street fashion through metallic decorations and loose silhouettes;

The heavy-duty denim collection deconstructed the aesthetics of detail regeneration using washed denim, patchwork, and fabrics with special textures;Business functional style integrated practicality and a sense of technology, with high-tech tailored fabrics embodying modern aesthetics in details;French street style created an elegant, comfortable, and luxurious look through minimalist cuts, neutral tones, and restrained details;The retro chapter inspired by 1990s Hong Kong gangster film elements added dramatic tension to the stage with luxuriously tailored suits and a sexy, cinematic vibe.

Every look showcased dynamic beauty through the models' elegant steps and spins. The symphony of stage lights and ocean waves infused the outfits with flowing light and shadow, creating a resonance between fashion trends and the environment.

At the grand finale, Mr. Cabin ran on the runway to greet the guests and audience. and finally walked straight into his mother’s arms—pushing the venue’s emotions to a climax. This moment was not only Mr. Cabbeen’s heartfelt response to his hometown and family affection, but also a symbol of CABBEEN’s cultural persistence and fashion attitude along the way: design, emotion, and tradition achieve a perfect convergence on the stage of modern fashion.

"Stepping Through Mountains and Seas, Growing with the Tides" is not only the theme of a fashion show, but also a response to cultural roots and the spirit of the times. CABBEEN has left the audience with a lasting memory of the seaside stage, and also let the world hear the "tide sound" from Chinese design—with more cutting-edge design concepts and cross-border creativity, CABBEEN will continue to integrate local culture with global trends, allowing the modern echo of Maritime Silk Road culture to resound continuously, and enabling the world to feel the unique strength and boundless imagination of Chinese design.
